45 Uplifting Glow Up Journal Prompts to Reinvent Yourself
Have you been looking for ways to improve yourself? Here are some glow up journal prompts to help you reinvent yourself and become the ultimate version of who you desire to be.
Lots of people equate their glow-up journeys to external things like beauty and skincare. And while these things do matter, there’s more to it.
To me, glowing up is about reinventing yourself. It’s about becoming a better version of yourself and taking a holistic approach to do so. So not only focusing on what’s on the outside, but what’s on the inside, too.
And it’s not a process that happens overnight. But if it’s something that you’d like to get a jumpstart on, here’s a challenge on glowing up in 30 days.

These journal prompts have been broken out into 3 categories:
- Self Reflecting and Awareness
- Visualizing Your Transformation
- Holding Yourself Accountable
Self-Reflecting and Awareness
Sometimes we jump into bettering ourselves without identifying our end goal. All we know is that we want to be better. But what exactly does that mean?
Does that mean you want to become the dream version of yourself? Or does it mean that you will focus more on your fitness and wellness?
These prompts can help you gain clarity.
1. In 3 sentences or less, what exactly do you desire for myself and my life?
2. What insecurities have you been ignoring when it comes to embracing yourself?
3. If you compiled a list of 10 words that described your authentic self, what words would be on the list?
4. What’s one societal norm that you dislike, but have fallen into following anyway?
5. Which parts of yourself have you been suppressing out of fear of judgment?
6. In what moments do you feel the most confident and self-assured?
7. If you became your dream self, what would that look like? Who would you be? What would your personality be like? What would you look like?
8. What are your 3 biggest strengths? What are some things you need to improve on?
9. Describe 6 differences between who you are now and the person you will become.
10. How can you make healthier decisions for my mindset?
11. If you could be doing anything right now at this moment, what would you be doing?
12. How important are looks to you? Do you prioritize the way you look above all else in your life?
13. How do you cope with difficult emotions such as feelings of anxiety or anger?
14. Which self-care activities do you need to start prioritizing to reinvent yourself?
15. What things can you do to create space for more self-reflection, awareness, and discovery in your life?
My answer to prompt #10: I can make healthier decisions for my mindset by focusing on things that I have control over and by choosing the things I give my attention to. Not everything that happens around me is worthy of my time or my peace of mind.
Visualizing Your Transformation
Being able to visualize your glow up goals can help you stay motivated. But for some (me included) visualizing can be difficult at times. So it helps to find ways to engage your thoughts
These prompts provide you with the inspiration you need to get creative in imagining your glow up.
16. If you wrote a letter to your future reinvented self, what would it say? What would your aspirations be?
17. If fear and self-doubt did not exist, what would your life be like right now?
18. What limiting beliefs do you have that could get in the way of you reaching your full potential?
19. If you could choose the 3 most important reasons for wanting to become an improved version of yourself, what would they be? List the reason in order of what’s most important to you.
20. If you were creating a new you from scratch, what qualities and behaviors would be must-haves?
21. Imagine it’s 1 year from now. What 7 things would you write down on your gratitude list?
22. What new hobbies or interest are you interested in learning on your transformation journey?
23. If you were interviewed and asked to detail your reasons for wanting to change, how would you answer the question?
24. Are there people in your life who would have an issue with you trying to better yourself? How would you deal with these people?
25. Let’s get super detailed about your dream life? Where do you live? Where do you stay? How do you make money? What kind of car do you drive? How do you dress? What time to do you wake in the morning? Add any other meaningful details.
26. Do you believe that you can have everything you want in life?
27. If income was of no issue, what life-changing experiences would you gift to yourself?

29. If I handed you a magic wand that could transform any aspect of your being, what would you change?
30. Imagine you were standing face-to-face with your future self, what encouraging words do you think she/he would have for you?
My answer to prompt #17: If fear and self-doubt did not exist, I would be a full-time blogger right now, instead of just part-time. I would have begun my blogging journey in 2015 instead of 2020. Fear has indeed kept me from doing some of the things I’ve always wanted to do, but I’m tackling my fears one day at a time.
Holding Yourself Accountable
Something that I struggle with when it comes to reinventing myself is sticking to the things that I said I would do.
With these prompts, you’ll figure out ways to stay on your glow up journey by building effective habits and routines.

34. Do you plan on setting up a reward system to treat yourself for each goal or change you achieve?
35. Create a list of 5 books to help you with your transformation. (My go-to for books is Amazon since I can download and read instantly via Kindle)

37. List 3 steps you can take today to get closer to your vision.
38. When you are lacking motivation, where will you get ideas to create inspiration and find motivation again?
39. What tools and other resources do you think you will invest in or should invest in?
40. How do you plan to deal with challenges and setbacks? Is there a way that you can prepare for those obstacles now so that you can crush them when they arise?
41. What physical object can you use to remind you of your reason for transformation? (Hold it in your hands when you need a quick motivational boost.)
42. If you were to design a playlist to listen to each morning to keep you in the right mindset, what songs would you add to the list? List at least 10 songs.

44. What new habits can you introduce to help you stay accountable while also making sure they align with your values and goals?
45. What new self-care boundaries do you see yourself implementing to protect your energy and prevent being overwhelmed?
My answer to prompt #38: When I’m lacking motivation, I turn to music to help me get inspired. And if I’m not in the mood for music, I’m on social media searching for powerful messages from other people. Reading about things that other people have achieved always inspires me to stay focused on my goals.
