How To Always Look Put Together: Secrets Revealed
Have you ever wondered how to always look put together? I have. Because the way you present yourself matters.
It’s 3 pm on Wednesday and you finally catch a glimpse of yourself in the bathroom mirror and you immediately PAUSE.
Your hair is a mess, your clothes aren’t appealing, and your manicure is chipped. And although you hate to admit it – you look rough! To be honest, I’ve had this happen to me more times than I care to admit.
So, here’s the deal. I’m going to share my 10 tips to always look good.
How to Look Good Every Day
1. Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
When it comes to looking your best, I can not stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle includes eating right, exercising, and taking care of your mental health.
Incorporating these aspects into your life on a daily basis will assist in you becoming the best you. And when you’re the best version of yourself, you can effortlessly look good at all times.
2. Follow a Skincare Regimen
Taking care of your skin is so important. It’s especially important if you wear makeup. Here is a very basic skincare regimen:
- Wash your face twice a day (preferably once in the morning and once at night)
- Remove makeup at the end of the day
- Exfoliate at least once a week
- Moisturize twice a day
3. Don’t Neglect Your Brows
Your eyebrows are one of the most important features on your face so you need to make sure they always look good. If they are sparse, be sure to fill them in with a dip brow, brow pencil, are some brown eyeshadow.
For a more permanent solution, you could try microblading or a hair transplant. Before opting for either, please do your research and weigh the pros and cons. For unruly brows, try tweezing, waxing, or shaping them up with a razor.
My preferred method is tweezing then shaping, and I do it myself. My waxing days are over due to my skin breaking out after every wax. Ouch!
4. Develop a 5-Minute Makeup Routine
If you need to be out the door in a hurry it’s time to shorten that makeup routine. I’m sure I spend about 30-45 minutes on a basic makeup routine (and I only know how to do basic makeup – lol). That is a whole lot of time that could be spent doing something else.
When developing your 5-minute makeup routine, pick the areas that you want or need to focus on. If your skin is already clear, go for a tinted moisturizer. Then do your brows and add lip color and you’re DONE!
If your skin has blemishes, conceal the blemishes and apply foundation then skip the contour, highlight, blush, and etc. Whatever you choose to do, please do not forget to do your brows!
5. Find an Easy Hairstyle
Depending on your hair, it could take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Trust me, you don’t want to be that girl in the morning that needs to leave the house in 10 minutes but your hair still needs to be styled – costing you an extra 30 minutes!
So pick a cute, quick, and simple hairstyle that you know looks good on you without a doubt.
My current style only takes 2 minutes to achieve. That’s right – 2 minutes. Guess the style. It’s a wig! Wigs are my favorite because they allow me to switch it up frequently and saves me a ton of time.
6. Maintain Your Mani and Pedi
When it comes to keeping your nails and toes nice, you don’t have to break the bank to do so. You don’t even have to wear polish or get acrylics, but you will need to keep those nails looking nice!
No matter what, always make sure your nails are clean, cut, and shaped nicely. If you wear polish and it starts to chip, just remove it from all of your nails to give yourself a uniform look.
If you wear press-ons and the nail pops off, glue it back on immediately. Every two weeks, stop and examine your nails. Do you need a refill? Do your cuticles need to be pushed back?
This is the perfect time to get those issues in check. By sticking to a maintenance schedule, you’ll never have to worry about unkempt nails.
7. Pre-select Outfits
Deciding on what clothes you are going to wear is an art and will take ample time. To ensure that you don’t waste time choosing something to wear, you need to analyze what’s in your closet from time to time so that you’re aware of what items you have on hand.
The night before you’re due out, you should go through your closet and pick out about 1 to 3 possible outfits. Try them all on and see which one looks the best and lay it out for tomorrow.
If you like all of the outfits, then you’re good on outfits for a couple of days. Make sure any preparation needed for your clothes – like ironing- is done the night before.
8. Wear Comfortable and Cute Shoes
I’ll be honest, when it comes to my shoes, the most important thing to me is that they are comfortable. I need to know before I walk out of my house that I will be able to keep the shoes on my feet for the amount of time needed.
And this is why I don’t wear heels (and the fact that I can’t walk properly in them and they make my feet HURT). My go-to shoes are flats, and they go great with a lot of my outfits.
When I’m feeling a little spicy, I’ll throw on some wedges. Not only do they give me some much-needed height, but they are also super cute!
Pick a shoe that works for you. If you despise flats and love your six inches, then do your thing! As long as the shoes are clean and in good shape you should be fine.
9. Accessorize
So you’re fully dressed: makeup, hair, nails, and a great outfit. Yet, you still feel like something is missing. You’re missing your accessories! Accessories can be earrings, necklaces, rings, or even a purse.
Accessories are the final touch that will bring your whole look together.
10. Exude Confidence
No matter what you wear or how you do your makeup, you will not look or feel beautiful and attractive if you aren’t radiating with confidence. So, be CONFIDENT!

Utilize These Tips to Always Look Put Together
I know it’s so easy to neglect your physical appearance when you’re busy, but you have to find the time. And it’s all about focusing on the small things to make your whole look come together. Don’t wait to glow up your looks!
I’ve shared my best tips, and knowing how to look put together every day is no longer a secret! By slowly incorporating these tips into your routine, you can ensure you’ll always look great.
Love this!! Confidence is key!
It really is!
this is some great advice and as a mom i tend to neglect myself from time to time thanks for the advise
You’re welcome! And yes, it can be very hard to find time for ourselves when we’re super busy.
Love the last one – exuding confidence! The way someone carries themselves means a lot.
I struggle with my brows. I’m blonde and they are as light as the lightest part of my hair, almost transparent. They are actually quite full but almost invisible. I used to get them tinted on occasion, but it only lasts for about 2 weeks tops, and this busy mamma isn’t going to the salon every two weeks to get her brows done. I find using two different products helps keep them look natural, but I have to colour in the whole thing.
Doing a closet overhaul once in a while helps too. Laying out outfits, and while you are at it, maybe you come up with a different combination to put together.
Yes, I do believe the way you carry yourself makes a world of difference.
I struggle with my brows also. They are black but very thin. Since the quarantine, I’ve tried to let them grow in, but no change. It’s been almost 4 months and I guess this is as thick as they will ever get. I’ve never tried tinting. Thought about microblading but have heard too many horror stories.
Speaking of closet overhauls, that’s definitely something I need to do soon. I have too many clothes that I do not wear just taking up space!
This list is so good! So simple, yet so easy to ignore or put off or… I love washing my face, but other than that I need some HELP in this department, especially my brows! I hate wearing makeup so what would you suggest would be the easiest to maintain?
Sometimes I go through periods of not wanting to wear makeup, so during those times I just make sure I follow a great skincare regimen. I love using charcoal sugar scrubs, mud masks, and pore strips. The brows take some time, but once you find something that works for you stick to it. I usually fill my brows in with a pomade to give them a thicker/fuller look.
I love these! My boys always look so cute and then I look thrown together. I can’t wait to start implementing these tips. Thank you for sharing!
You’re very welcome!
