Simple DIY Spa Day At Home
We all love to be pampered, right? Especially after a long week or a stressful day at work. Or maybe, we just haven’t had the time for some self-care in a while. Whatever the reason, it’s so important to schedule out some me-time. And what better way to do that than a relaxing spa day at home.
So, I’m going to break down the simple steps to achieving a quick DIY spa day in the comfort of your own home.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Free time
- A bathtub
- Favorite candle or incense
- Bubble bath and/or Epsom salt
- Cucumbers or soothing eye mask
- Favorite face mask
- Relaxing music
- Nail/Manicure items of your choice

PREPARATION
Prior to your bath, you want to prepare yourself. The purpose of your spa day routine isn’t only to make yourself more beautiful but to also relax and take a moment for you. So here are some things to do beforehand:
- Get in the shower. This way, you’re all nice and clean before stepping into your warm bath.
- Wash your hair. Don’t forget the conditioner!!! You want to keep your hair healthy.
- Exfoliate your entire body.
- Using your method of removal, get rid of any unwanted body hair.
Once you’re done showering, it’s time to move to the best part – the relaxation.
THE RELAXATION BATH
When it comes to the relaxing bath, it’s not as simple as just running water and stepping into the bathtub.
SET THE MOOD
You have to start off with setting the mood. Dim the lights if you can. Remember, we wan’t this spa-day to be as relaxing as possible and bold-bright lights don’t fit the criteria.
TURN ON SOME MUSIC
Pull out your phone and turn on a relaxing playlist, but don’t turn it up too loud. You want the music to soothe you.
ADD SOME FRAGRANCE
Do you have a favorite scent or smell? Light your candles or incense and place them around the bathtub and around your bathroom.

RUN YOUR BATH
Run your bath water and pour in your bubble bath, Epsom salt, or favorite bath bomb. I prefer the Dr. Teals Lavender Epsom Salt and Bubble bath.
RELAX AND ENJOY
Now it’s time to relax.
Apply your favorite face mask. I love the ……
Get in the tub, place the cucumbers on your eyes, and relax. Let the relaxing music flowing from your phone soothe you. Take a deep breath and smell the fragrance in the air as it drifts from the candles and incense. Clear your mind. Breathe. Appreciate the moment you are in now.
Once you’re done relaxing, it’s time to get out and apply a moisturizing body lotion. I prefer the Nivea brand. It smells amazing and keeps me moisturized. Lather that on and spray your favorite body spray.
ENDING YOUR SPA DAY
You’ve soaked in a warm bath. You’ve relaxed your mind. You’re moisturized and you smell great.
Just because your tub-time is over, doesn’t mean that your spa day is over.
Throw on a fluffy robe and take a few moments to focus on your nail care. Trim, file, and paint your nails and toes in your favorite nail color.
After your nails are dry, put on the comfiest clothes you can find and continue the relaxation. Grab a blanket and curl up with your favorite book or watch your favorite tv show until you fall asleep.
MAKE IT A HABIT
Simple isn’t it? This is an effortless way to incorporate an easy at-home spa day routine. So be sure to set aside some time as often as possible to cater to your needs.
